Running Shoes for Heavier Runners by Mr. Wing

Thanks for reading my article about running shoes for a larger, heavier runner . Being a heavier runner myself (I currently weigh 230 lbs), I have always found it difficult to find the correct running shoe. Some are too light and don't support my larger frame. Some don't fit how your feet land, either outside or inside. (This is called pronation). Some runners overpronate and some runners underpronate. Here is the definiton as defined by Runnersworld.

Pronation is the inward (medial) roll of the foot and in particular the heel and arch which occurs naturally at the heel strike as a cushioning mechanism.

Overpronation is when the feet roll inward too much.

Supination, also known as underpronation, is the opposite to pronation where the feet don't roll inward enough. Wearing the wrong type of shoe will lead to painful shins and joints, or even injury.

It is easy to see if you are a under or overpronator. Just look at your shoes!!! A pronator's outer soles wear down along the inside of the ball of the foot and they tend to have flat feet. The supinator's outer soles wear down along the outer edge and their feet tend to have high arches. Shoes are designed with features to control these problems. So now we have the first thing you need to know when looking for running shoes. Are you a over or under pronator.

Next, if you are a heavier runner, you want to find shoes that are motion controlled. This is best for a heavier runner. The 4 best brands of motion controlled shoes are Brooks, Saucony, Asics and New Balance running shoes. My personal favorite is the Brooks Beast. I found this shoe to be the best for my body frame. Its a heavier shoe that has cushion and very durable for a larger runner like me. Brooks Ariel is the woman's version of the Brooks Beast.

So the next time you are looking for the correct running shoe for a larger, heavier runner , make sure you know if you are a under or over pronator, and make sure the shoes are motion controlled.

Essential Guide to Men's Trail Running Shoes by Mithran

We've combed through our search engine to produce a list of top of the line men's trail running shoes. Make sure you're getting the best shoes for your body frame, feet, and adventure. A few of the best reviewed trail running shoes include the Brooks Cascadia 4, New Balance 840, Adidas Supernova Riot, END Stumptown 12 oz, and the waterproof Salomon XT Wings GTX. From our list the New Balance 840 and the Stumpton are the cheapest in price (roughly $70-$85); higher on the price scale is the Salomon XT ($140-$160).

The Brooks Cascadia 4 has been deemed a Top Trail Running shoe by men and editors of athletic magazines. The Cascadia is available in both men and women's styles and comes in a wide range of colors. The Cascadia was released in February of this year and the model will be discontinued this December. The next model will debut in February 2010. Features of the Cascadia include a BioMoGo midsole that is comfortable and durable. The outsole grips the ground easily, and handles slippery surfaces well. We did find that many reviewers found this shoes laces to come loose too easily.

If you need a durable water and moisture proof shoe, consider the Salomon XT Wings GTX. Unlike the Cascadia, the single pull laces stayed tied as your hit the trail. The outer portion of the shoe is crafted out of Gore-Tex lining and the shoe is ideal for hard terrain, snow, and pavement. The Salomon is also crafted out of the lightest, yet most durable, waterproof materials that will protect your feet from the slightest of moisture.

The Salomon is a bit expensive, but you can find peace of mind in the New Balance 840. The New Balance 840 is easy on your feet but performs hard on the trail. The 840 doesn't offer a lot of cushion, but that's okay if you don't require extra padding. The 840 has a seamless upper, and reviewers found the seamless upper to deter your feet from getting blisters. Because this shoe lacks all of the extra bells and whistles of expensive trail running shoes, the 840 is perfect for individuals who need a basic durable running shoe.

The END Stumptown 12 oz trail running shoe is made of recycled products. Some of the key features of the Stumpton are its trail radius regrind outsole and co-molded protection plate. The breathable upper allows supreme ventilation for your feet, and the shoes are lightweight and flexible. The Stumpton is ideal for the trail runner, outdoorsman, and adventure seeker.

For the best motion control trail running shoe look to the Adidas Supernova Riot. Men have proclaimed the Supernova to have excellent traction on both uphill and downhill walks and runs. The toebox portion of the shoe has plenty of room, so don't worry about your toes being cramped together. The Supernova is a powerhouse of technology; the shoe features technology such as adiPRENE cushioning, Traxion outer soles, Pro Moderator medial support, and ForMotion design. Basically, this shoe is the icing on the cake.

Because many of these shoes were introduced at the beginning of the year you may find these shoes for lower prices. Each model's follow up shoe comes out at the beginning of 2010 which makes it easier for you to score a great deal on awesome trail running shoes.

The Brief History of Nike Shoes by Alice

Nike shoes have various styles and colors. They can be worn by professionals and daily walkers who like to make a fashion statement. You can easily find Nike stores in your area. The Nike swoosh logo has been considered as one of the most recognized company logos in the world now.

This special logo was originally designed in 1971 by a student who studied graphic design at Portland State University. They paid the girl only $35 for the fabulous design but some sources also say that Phil Knight, the co-founder of Nike, later gave her a diamond ring engraved with the logo she designed as well as an unknown amount of Nike stock. It is interesting that Knight was not very impressed with her work the first time, like what he said, "I don't love it, but it will grow on me."

Today, there have been more than 30,000 people employed by Nike around the world. Nike also provides other sports gear besides shoes. The company is under some scrutiny recently for the issues concerned with human rights and poor working environment. Official statistic shows that only in 2008, Nike has made a net income of approximate $1.9 billion dollars. The name Nike comes from the Greek goddess of victory. As a matter of fact, like many other famous companies, Nike also had a humble condition at the beginning. All of the original founders are used to be athletes and they have been running it for more than 50 years till now.

In fact, the duo first sold the shoes manufactured by a Japanese factory but in very short time they ended the relationship with the Japanese company in 1971. Afterwards, they started to improve their own line of footwear made mostly for football and decided to call it the name Nike. Soon they developed much more lines of shoes. With the development of technique and management, by 1980, abound 50% of shoes sold in the United States had carried the Nike brand. The headquarters the Nike company still locates in Oregon now and owns several subsidiaries such as Umbro and Converse.

Shopping for Sneakers Online by Adam Raj

Prices, Comfort, Costs

Very often we walk around the stores shopping for those nice Puma sneakers and we reject the thought of buying these or those due to their prices. Luckily, there's an awesome opportunity to not only save on your sneakers' purchase, but as well do it in style and comfort.

Online shopping has always been advantageous for all those who were seeking cost effective solutions to their needs. Since times the Internet was first brought up, it was filled with not only good, interesting and information filled websites, but with online stores as well. Of course, same as with any other new thing, people didn't take online shopping seriously and were assuming it shady and suspicious. But, due to the acts of some brave first buyers, it started to become more and more popular, since more and more people were learning about the advantages of this type of shopping.

In online stores, customers can find many different things - almost everything… maybe even everything! There are many online auctions, stores, music websites with merchandise and feature products, companies' websites with online stores of their production, etc. This actually makes online shopping more effective, time saving, comprehensive, and cheaper. No one says there are no frauds within online store net, but most of the sellers are honest and diligent in delivering the products on time, in good condition, and for low costs.

Buying Puma sneakers online is same as buying any other thing online. There are multiple stores that offer fake production though and sell it at such prices as it is original brand, though. Therefore, it's necessary to pay attention to the details, feedback and other things that might point on the originality or fake of the Puma sneakers you are about to buy. If you buy not quality, fake sneakers, you will spend your money in vain, because your new shoes will not serve properly and not as long as you will be expecting. When choosing the online store for your purchase, make sure that it is a store, which sells original items and truly has prices lower than the average ones.

However, buying sneakers online is very comfortable. You can simply sit in your favorite armchair, sipping your favorite tea, and shop online, going from one store to another within just a few seconds, and ordering your purchases without having to go anywhere. Without a doubt, you would have to wait a while, till your purchase is delivered. But this is not an issue at all with all the savings and comfort you get in return.

Puma sneakers are not the only brand sold online. If you have interest in buying Reebok, Adidas, or Nike Sneakers, you can find them online in the same manner. Just always make sure that the store you deal with is trusted and reliable. Online shopping is a great advantage for all shopping lovers.

How to Choose the Right Soccer Shoes by Alice

When selecting the soccer shoes, you need to take account of playing surface and field conditions. Some shoes work very well in some conditions but some will not perform at all. As a matter of fact, the wrong soccer shoes may cause injury. Outdoor soccer shoes mainly have three categories.

Soccer Cleats. The soccer cleats are what the most players need. They come with twelve or thirteen studs on the bottom. There are more than 95% of players in outdoor soccer using this kind of shoes. Considered to be the multipurpose shoes, the soccer cleats can perform not only on dry and wet fields but also the grass or synthetic turf fields. As one of the dominant sports brands, Adidas provides apparel and equipment for all teams in Major League Soccer. As the development and popularity of the soccer, Adidas has played a leading role in shaping the style of the play itself. Nike is a relative newcomer to the sport of soccer and leads the market in heritage and feature the Vapor, which is the lightest soccer shoes on the markets

Turf Shoes. Turf shoes are designed for playing on artificial turf ground or tough grass fields. Most of them are small and have many cleats on the sole. For those players who have had back, knee or ankle injuries, the turf shoes can disperse the pressure over the feet. However, turf shoes can not perform on a wet field. So these shoes have some limitations.

Soft Ground Shoes. Player usually do not use them unless some hard field conditions caused by rain or the plush field conditions. There are only six studs on the sole of the shoe and they make the traction when sinking into the muddy ground. These shoes can not be used for hard ground fields because the six studs can not support the player and will bring on some injuries.

Often a particular shoe can be recommended by tennis pro or someone who even works in a shoe store. Sometimes celebrity`s names and pro tennis players have their name attached with a product, and that may also be a factor in the one you choose. Aside from the way it looks, its name, popularity and color, you probably will want to know what kind of shoe you are getting. What it is made up of and what can it do to improve you and your game style.

Several components make up a great tennis shoe. Is it light weight or is it clunky and heavy? Pick up the shoe you like and see how much it weighs in your hand, and then try it on your feet. Does it feel nice to walk around in? Is it light to the touch? The lighter it is, the faster you may be when dashing around the courts. Does the shoe breathe? Is it well ventilated? Points to consider when looking at your shoe of choice. Inspect the shoe thoroughly for breathable points. Does the shoe have a guarantee? Some shoes offer a limited time offer on the way it will hold up, that kind of guarantee might say that it is of great quality. Does your shoe give great support and ultimate traction? It will need to, if you`re going to run all about swinging at the ball and not fall down on a misty day.

Some shoes offer personal features. You can have them with midfoot shanks, moulded heel counters, rubber outside pivot points, toe bumpers and max air cushioning, you can also buy them in Flywire and Lunarlite technology. These extra features might be just the thing you`re looking for in a tennis shoe. You might want to also find a tennis shoe that offers a feature where it is wearable right out of the box, where as some shoes need to be broken in before play so you don`t end up with a million blisters. You will want to find a shoe that fits you snug and all tennis shoes offer different sizing, it is important to find out how the company`s sizing works, you might have to go up or down a size to have it fit nice and snug.

Finding a tennis shoe that you love will take some careful shopping and investigating. There are shoes to fit all levels and some shoes that claim to work well for elite players or aggressive ones. If you are a fantastic player who plays aggressively you might want to get a shoe that caters to that so you don`t wear it out. There are also high performance shoes that will give you the lift you need as you dive around for tennis balls on the court. Buying tennis shoes will be an issue that will come up through-out the year so it is essential to know what kind of shoes work for you to make selecting one fast and easy.

How To Pick The Best Running Shoes.By: Maui Aguilar

People have different approach of choosing what they think is best running shoes. But what are the things that should we really consider when buying a pair of running shoes. Stereotypically, we have the notion that the latest, hottest and most expensive foot gear is what we should be wearing since it is, in fact, the coolest. But there are some things that we need to consider before we grab ourselves the best pair that will not only fit comfortably, but at the same time, benefit us in the long run (literally).

Foot type

As a whole, people of all walks of life have different feet types. In other words, its the different bone structures of the feet. This leads to the way we walk, stride and run. The most common among the human population is flat footed people. It is also called the pronated type of feet. It means that the medial bones of the foot tend to go inward then downward and when walking, the foot comes down on its margin. These foot type need extra support on the medial arch. If you have this type of feet, motion-controlling running shoes best fit you.

The second most common feet type is the high arched type. People with this type of feet walks from the outside going to the inside and they don’t have any problem with their stride. If you belong to this group, cushioned running shoes is best for your feet

The last feet type is the normal type. It lands just outside of the heel and finishing off slightly inward. This type is also known as the better runner. They have more control with their stride. Unfortunately, only a very small number of people have this feet type. Best fit of running shoes are those with cushion and supports the medial arch.

Purpose

You have to bear in mind the purpose of buying a pair of running shoes. For whatever reason, a definite ground in buying a new pair is when the soles of your shoes already have worn out. The duration of a pair of shoes for normal runners who frequently use their running shoes everyday is six months, if it’s more than six months, invest on a new one. An old pair of runner shoes doesn’t benefit your feet and support your bodyweight properly any longer, so it’s advisable to change them.

Price

A pair of running shoes comes with numbers. And those numbers are in dollars. Try to select a pair of shoes that fits you properly and comfortably without ruining your budget. Look for shoes that has exactly what you need, both the cost and the efficiency and ask yourself if it can last six months or so of running, jogging, walking, day in and out, rainy or sunny season.

Asics Running Shoes Technology - Adaptation at Its Best. By Al M. Kind

If you are even remotely interested in running you may have noticed the space age technology Asics has been equipping their shoes with. Asics has done an amazing job in creating shoes that not only look futuristic but also perform to the highest degree.

Sometimes you may think that all this high tech mumbo-jumbo means nothing. But in reality an unimaginable amount of research has gone into each pair of Asics shoes you wear. Below is a brief summary on the technologies present in the latest Asics running shoes.

Adaptive Running Shoes

Asics has started to brand their shoes as Adaptive Running Shoes. It basically means that the shoe adapts to the needs of each individual runner. Imagine a pair of shoes that react in real time to provide the needs of the runner precisely when he needs it.

Asymmetrical Lacing Design

Gone are the traditional laces on shoes. Asics has introduced Asymmetrical Lacing on their shoes. It prevents the laces into biting too hard into your feet. It actually conforms to the bone architecture of your foot. This provides each Asics running shoe with a better and more comfortable fit.

Spacemaster and Cuprothermo Mesh

Both this materials form the mesh of the forefoot of an Asics shoe. The mesh or tongue of the shoe (made of Spacemaster material) is actually able to eliminate the formation of blisters. Cuprothermo is technology that is able to warm up the foot in cold temperatures and keep it cool during the warmer days. These space age materials keep the foot of a runner in good shape no matter what condition.

Heel Clutching System

This external system of light but stable material embraces the heel of runner's foot. It is revolutionary in its lightweight properties. And it also helps prevent blisters at the heel area.

Discrete Heel Unit

Some Asics running shoes actually have three entirely separate heel units. These heel units are positioned strategically for superior support. Also their separation allows a greater flexibility on each foot strike. This causes the shoe to deform differently to each runner's unique gait.

Propulsion Trusstic

This system is deployed on the entire length of the midsole. The complicated and multi-material system aims to replicate the way the foot is able to store and release energy.

The new Asics Running Shoes are focused on technologies which allow the shoe to adapt to each runner. From the actual field tests of this high-tech shoes Asics has succeeded in their goal. It is amazing how much research and development shoe companies like Asics put on their running shoes. Shoes will only get better and with technologies like what Asics has assembled the future is bright for all running enthusiasts.

Buying Men's Shoes For Fit and Comfort

When women shop for shoes they shop for design and style. When men shop of shoes they look for fit and comfort. Men's shoes are just as wide and varied as those shoes for women, and there is something to please everyone.

If you're a man looking for new shoes there are several things that you should take into consideration: the styling, the fit, and the durability of the shoe. Even with these three stipulations there is still one more thing that is at the top of your list of criteria, and that is comfort.

When you buy shoes you want to buy a pair that is going to be comfortable on your feet all day long without causing you discomfort. Shoes that are uncomfortable to wear can affect your posture and your feet, many times permanently. You may have to pay a bit more for those comfortable shoes but the extra expense will be well worth it.

There are certain times of the day when you should shop for your new shoes and other times when you should just wait. You want to look for your new men's shoes when you've been on your feet all day and they are larger than they are in the morning. For most men this will be the evening time.

If you buy shoes when you haven't been on your feet for very long you won't be getting the right fit. As the day goes on your feet will expand and if you've bought your new shoes when you haven't been on them all day they'll soon be too tight for you to wear comfortably.

Remember to bring along a pair of socks when you're shopping for shoes, if you're not already wearing a pair. Try on a pair of shoes that you like and walk around with them on for a few minutes so that you can get a good feel of how your foot sits in them. Take your time making the right choice for your feet so that you don't need to return your new shoes in a few days.
